Noney, March 12 2024: An 'Exhibition cum Mela for Promotion of Indigenous & Organic Products on Agriculture & Horticulture' was held on Tuesday at Longmai Market Shed, Noney town.

The programme was organised by Goodwill Group for Rural & Urban Development and supported by North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Society, North Eastern Council (NEC).

As resource persons of the programme, Chungong Pamei, DAO Noney, and Dr Roshan Dangmei, AO Noney spoke on scientific and organic farming system for preventing health hazards in food.

They also talked about the diseases that target seasonal vegetables like fungus, virus and bacteria apart from highlighting that there is enough of space in the area to practice agriculture and horticulture farming, which requires a systematic farming technique to avoid wasting land.

About 50 organic vegetable stalled were opened.

Longmai Area CSOs leaders and around 100 farmers attended the programme.
