IRCS Manipur readies for Red Cross Day

Imphal, March 12 2024:
A joint meeting of chairmen and secretaries of all district branches of Indian Red Cross Society Manipur and office bearers of the Society's Manipur branch was held at MG Avenue, Imphal, on Tuesday.
The meeting adopted a number of resolutions for a month-long commemoration of World Red Cross Day, from April 8 to May 8.The month-long event will feature competitions for students such as quiz, recitation, painting, and folk song in junior and youth categories.
During the course of the event, there will also be a discourse with eminent persons, leaders' meet with students' organisations, Meira Paibi leaders and CSO leaders, and blood donation camp in different places of the state.
A website of the Indian Cross Society Manipur will also be launched.
The meeting also had discussion about capacity building of district branches and reviving the non-functioning branches.
The meeting was chaired by Narendra Ningomba, chairman Indian Red Cross Society Manipur State Branch, and recorded by A Nabachandra, honorary general secretary.
The meeting was attended by district chairmen and secretaries of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Noney, Ukhrul, Kamjong, and Kakching.
