World Glaucoma Day observed

As observed across the globe, District Hospital Thoubal observed World Glaucoma Day today at its conference hall under the theme 'Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World' .
The observation was jointly organised by the National Programme For Control Of Blindness And Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI) and Eye Department, District Hospital Thoubal.
Deputy Commissioner Thoubal Ahanthem Subash IAS, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Thoubal Dr Y Nokul and Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Thoubal Dr Ruhinikumar graced as the presidium members of the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest, DC Thoubal highlighted the significance of this year's World Glaucoma Day theme 'Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World' since collective efforts are needed to tackle Glaucoma by raising awareness on the importance of early detection of this eye disease.
He elaborated on the vital role of local clubs, meira paibis and the masses apart from the efforts of doctors and medical personnel in controlling Glaucoma.
The DC also appealed to the masses to avail the facilities of the Eye Department of District Hospital Thoubal whenever there are any issues related to the eyes as the Department has adequate infrastructure.
Today's programme was also attended by the officials and staff of the District Hospital Thoubal.
