Training / input distribution programme held

A 1-day training cum input distribution programme on "Production Technology of Sesame" was held today at the conference hall of the Directorate of Extension Education, NEC-Model Farm, Lamphelpat.
The training programme was conducted under the 'Implementation of NEH Component 2023-24' programme sponsored by Indian Institute of Oilseed Research (IIOR), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telangana and implemented by KVK, Imphal East (Andro), Directorate of Extension Education, Imphal, said a release issued by KVK Imphal East.
At the event, Prof Ranjit Sharma, Directorate of Extension Education, encouraged the farmers to adopt new technologies to increase production & productivity.

Head & Senior Scientist, KVK, Imphal East, S Molibala Devi delivered a lecture on the prospect and value addition of oilseed crops while Nandini Chongtham, SMS, Agronomy spoke on package & practice of sesame cultivation and Dr H Ramananda Singh, SMS, Plant Protection elaborated on the pest & disease management of sesame.
Dr Th Robindro Singh, Deputy Director of Extension and Pl of the project also spoke on the overall importance and scope of oilseed production in the NE Region.
Later, nano urea and fertilizers were distributed to 10 males and 19 females from Imphal East District.
