Asufii FA cruise as SSU eke out win in AMFA Premier League

Imphal, December 21 2023: Asufii FA cruised past FC Raengdai 4-1 while Southern Sporting Union (SSU) ground out a slender 1-0 win over Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation (DMRAO) in the 1st Premier League 2023-24 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong on Thursday.

P Sorormi Thingsang scored a hat-trick in Asufii FA's 4-1 drubbing of FC Raengdai.

Asufii FA started strongly as Sorormi put his side ahead after nine minutes before he went on to extend their lead in the 31st minute.

After the break, Asufii FA took nine minutes into the second period to triple their advantage.

Sorormi scored again to complete his hat-trick after converting a penalty kick.

FC Raengdai reduced the deficit in the 59th minute through Khumanthem Taibanganba.

However, Ayekpam Tom-joseph Singh restored Asufii FA's three-goal cushion in the 62nd minute and the team defended well in the remaining minutes to make sure they closed out the game with a dominant 4-1 result.

SSU, meanwhile, rode on Yumnam Joychandra's first-half goal to edge past DMRAO 1-0 .

Joychandra gave SSU the lead in the 17th minute, and his side held off a strong challenge from the opposition to pull off a narrow victory.
