17th Manipur State League : Rahee UC thrash TRAU 3-0 to end 6-game winless run

Rahee United Club, Kamjong ended their search for a win in the 17th Manipur State League Group A competition with a 3-0 thrashing of TRAU in their 7th encounter this afternoon at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Md Shuaib took centre-stage in this one sided match as he hit a brace to set up the comfortable 3-0 win for Rahee UC .
Julian Keishing coolly converted a penalty kick to hand Rahee UC the lead after 16 minutes following a spirited start and Md Shuaib doubled the advantage in the 42nd minute.
The reserve team of the I-League 2 club remained clueless in the second half as well and Shuaib made the most of another chance to complete his double and put Rahee UC in the commanding position.
As TRAU failed to reduce the deficit, Rahee UC walked away 3-0 winners.
In another Group A encounter staged later in the day, North Eastern Sporting Union (NESU), Khurai played out a 1-1 draw with Elite FA, Kontha Ahallup.
Neither team found the target in the opening half but Elite FA found the lead after 66 minutes thanks to Ningthoujam Mahesh and the team almost looked to seal all three points but Thounaojam Meiraba who came off the bench after 73 minutes netted the equaliser for NESU four minutes into the stoppage time.
Although the two sides got four more additional minutes, they failed to find the winner and eventually ended up sharing a point apiece.
At the end of 7 rounds, YPHU are on top of the table with 15 points (goal for 13) followed by UPAA (15 pts : goal for 11) and USA (14 pts) in the second and third places.
