KCC, PCC, KSDO & IBSA prevail in Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

Imphal, December 21 2023: KCC (Kongba Bazar), PCC (Mayai Koibi), KSDO (Kiyamgei) and IBSA (Yumnam Leikai) emerged the victors in their respective league matches on the fourth day of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 on Thursday.

KCC recorded the biggest margin win of the day after beating SHADOW (Thangmeiband) by 133 runs at Oriental College.

After opting to bat, the Kongba Bazar squad posted 169/6 in the stipulated 20 overs, with Ningmaithem Dijaraj (34), Thokchom Mo-mocha (22 not out), Rohen Singh (22), Nameirakpam Arbin (20), Tayenjam Tomba (16 not out), Keisham Basantakumar (15), Ningombam Tony (10) and Yumnam Sheiteendra (3) contributing to their total.

In the process, KCC's 3 wickets fell to Rk Nishikanta, 2 to S Lanchenba and one to James Athokpam.

KCC then took 14.3 overs to bowl out for SHADOW for a mere 36.Singthoi Singh Nandeibam a nd Keisham Basantakumar shone with the ball in KCC's emphatic win by claiming wickets each, while Yumnam Sheiteendra and Tayenjam Tomba chipped in with a wicket apiece.

PCC, on the other hand, notched up a commanding 87-run victory over TCMDC (Thongju) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

The Maiyai Koibi side chose to bat first and put up a total of 181/4 courtesy of Chingakham Ranjan (50 not out), Takhelmayum Vikash (38), Thokchom Anand (27), Huidrom Dhanashyam (25 not out) and Longjam Gibson (25) .

In response, TCMDC faltered in their chase as they could only manage 94 after being dismissed in 18.5 overs.

Suraj Kharibam scored an unbeaten 43 in a losing cause.

Ajay Mahto Kumar turned hero as his 5-wicket haul played a pivotal role in PCC's win.

L Chingheihunba, Chingakham Ranjan, Mairembam Lucky, Pravin Kumar and Thokchom Anand also got their names on the scoreboard with one wicket each.

KSDO beat KASC (Khomidok) by 36 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground.

They scored 151/8 after being asked to bat first.

In the innings, Md Arif Khan topscored with 52 off 36 balls.

Other contributors to KS-DO's total were Tarique Aziz (29), Nawaz Sharif (17), Abdul Rafique (13) and Khurshru Pravez (10).For KASC, Muhammad Javed Aktar scalped 4 wickets while Md Aqeel, Md Farijuddin and Md Arif each took one wicket.

KASC batted the complete 20 overs but they came up short, managing 115/8 .

Md Riyajuddin and Khushru Pravez led the KSDO bowling as the duo equally shared 4 wickets between them, with Lakimbur and Sangomshumpham Shah Nawaz taking a wicket each in their side's triumph.

IBSA, meanwhile, registered a 19-run success against NAPSA (Kha Imphal) in their league match at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Electing to bat, IBSA were restricted to 112/8 .

The batters who scored in double digits in their innings were Khundrakpam Lemba (29), Nelson Keithellakpam (17), Azmad Kh (16), Heromen Singh Ningthoujam (11) and Dilhemlung Golmei (10) .

IBSA then bowled out NAPSA for 93 in 19.4 overs with the help of Boney Potshangbam and Mk Tamim who both picked up 3 wickets.

Pravesh, Azmad Kh and Yaikhom Pintu each chipped in with one wicket.

For NAPSA, Tongbram Dhanakuber grabbed 2 wickets while Nepram Richer, Albert Sorokhaibam and Heisnam Boney took one wicket each.
