23rd Challenge Cup Rainbow FC beat Thangmeiband FC, VSAI hold Mayailambi FA

Imphal, March 24 2025: Rainbow FC, Khamnam Leirak beat Thangmeiband FC 3-1 as VSAI, Thangmeiband held Mayailambi FA, Haoreibi to a 1-1 draw in today's matches of the 23rd Challenge Cup Veterans' Football Tournament 2025 .

In the Group B opener of the tournament being underway at SAI NERC ground in Takyel, Y Tomcha scored the opener in the 4th minute before M Meino scored twice (12', 52') to hand Rainbow FC a 3-0 advantage.

E Romi scored the consolation goal for Thangmeiband FC at the stroke of the hour mark.

Later in the day, VSAI played out a 1-1 draw with Mayailambi FA in the Group C opening match.

W Ajit earned Mayailambi FA the lead in the 29th minute only to be cancelled by VSAI through N Rajesh after 58 minutes.

AMBA FC will play Ex-SSB in a Group C match tomorrow from 2 pm before Keishamthong FC play EMV FC, Lamlai in a Group B encounter from 3.15 pm .
