Women's U-23 T20 Trophy : Manipur suffer 65-run loss to Vidarbha

Manipur suffered a 65-run loss to Vidarbha at St Xavier's KCA Cricket Ground, Trivandrum in the Women's U-23 T20 Trophy Group B match yesterday.
It was the second consecutive loss for Manipur having gone down by 9 wickets to Maharashtra in the opening match on December 10 .
Vidarbha amassed 150 runs for 6 wickets after electing to bat first and restricted Manipur to 85 for 7 for the easy win.
Sayali Rajendra Shinde and Aarohi Bambode gave Vidarbha a promising start with a 60-run first wicket partnership in 9 overs but Niruta trapped Sayali Rajendra lbw for 16 runs for the first wicket before Aarohi Bambode holed out in the next delivery on 37 to RK Linthoingambi off the L Linthoi's bowling.
Riddhi (28) and Sai Rajesh Bhoyar (23) also kept the scoreboard ticking before dismissed by Th Mangalsana and Niruta respectively.
Janhvi Ranganathan 11 and Arya P Gohane 12 were unbeaten for the 7th wicket partnership as the innings ended at 150/6 .
Niruta returned with best bowling figures of 2/22 in 4 overs as Linthoi and Mangalsana settled with a wicket apiece.
In the chase, Manipur started slowly and remained struggling at 14/3 within 2.4 overs losing Kalpana (0 run out), Linthoingambi Raj Kumari (9 to Arya P Gohane) and Niruta (0 to Arya P Gohane) cheaply.
Seterny and Ronibala Thokchom had the highest 27 run partnership before Aayushi Thakre opened her account by removing Ronibala for 12 runs.
Aayushi Thakre then got rid of Seterny for 23 runs for her second wicket and went on to dismiss L Linthoi and Kiranbala Haorungbam on ducks and finished with the best figures of 4/12 in her spell of 4 overs.
Palujam Kiranbala was unbeaten on highest 24 as the chase concluded at 85/7 .
Manipur will play Sikkim in the next match tomorrow at the same venue.
