BEE entrusted to prepare Energy Efficiency Action plan

The ministry of power (MoP) has reportedly entrusted the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to spearhead the preparation of state-specific Energy Efficiency Action plan in consultation with the respective state governments.
The objective of the initiative is to align resource allocation with the states' requirements and estimate energy conservation potential in predominant sectors.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP and GreenTree Global has developed the Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Manipur, identifying focus sectors.
The half-day Stakeholder Validation Workshop and Launch of the State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) for Manipur took place on December 6 at the MSPDCL Conference room in Imphal.
The function which was chaired by power secretary Dr Shailesh Kumar Chourasia was attended by MSPDCL managing director H Shanti Kumar Singh and MSPDCL executive director N Rabi Singh alongside other senior officials from government departments and professionals from various institutions.
The SEEAP is a strategic framework developed in partnership with the ministry of power.
Executed by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP and GreenTree Global, SEEAP aims to drive sustainable energy practices for an eco-friendlier future in Manipur.
The action plan is bifurcated into short-term plan for five years and long-term strategy targeting high-impact energy efficiency by 2031.During the conference, Dr Chourasia emphasised the significance of energy efficiency and the implementation of new, innovative energy-efficient technologies in the state.
Dr CS Azad and Priya Kumari from GreenTree Global, as representatives, elaborated on the action plans and DSM measures in the state.
