3rd MNCA U15 Girls One Day Trophy 2025-26 : AKSDO secure third consecutive title with dominant 9-wicket victory over PTRC

AKSDO, Khangabok successfully defended their crown to lift their third consecutive MNCA U15 Girls One Day Trophy title with a clinical 9-wicket victory over PTRC, Patsoi in the final today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
AKSDO's disciplined bowling unit restricted toss winners PTRC to a modest total of 131/6.They then chased down the target comfortably with 22 balls to spare, anchored by a captain's knock from Laishram Linthoi Chanu.
Opting to bat first, PTRC endured a catastrophic top-order collapse.
They were left reeling at 38/6 by the 13th over due to relentless pressure from the AKSDO bowlers.
It was Thokchom Langlen Chanu, who led the bowling charts with 2/30, while Lucyrani Khundrakpam (1/31), Saikhom Priya Chanu (1/13), and skipper Laishram Linthoi Chanu (1/14) claimed one wicket apiece to rip through the top six.
From 38/6 in 12.2 overs, Laishram Bigyapati played a stellar, counter-attacking innings of 54 not out off 56 balls (4 fours) as she found an exceptionally resilient partner in Laitonjam Angelina (12* off 57 balls).
The duo batted through the remaining 17.4 overs, stringing together an unbeaten 93-run partnership for the 7th wicket to guide PTRC to a respectable 131/6 .
The 132-run chase proved to be a comfortable cruise for the defending champions, courtesy of a masterclass in top-order batting.
Openers Laishram Linthoi Chanu and Laishram Kalpana Devi completely deflated the PTRC bowling attack with a massive 118-run opening stand.
Kalpana missed out on a half-century, falling for a well-made 41 off 61 balls to Laitonjam Silky Devi (1/23) .
Captain Linthoi Chanu stayed until the very end, reaching a patient 50 not out off 86 balls (1 four).
Henthoisana Takhellambam provided a quick finishing touch with a brisk 13* off 13 balls to seal the title in the 27th over.
Laishram Linthoi was eventually declared player of the final match and feted with a cash prize of Rs 1,000.She also emerged the highest wicket taker of the tournament registering 16 wickets in 7 innings and received another Rs 1,500 cash prize.
Winners AKSDO and runners up PTRC were honoured with cash rewards of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively besides trophies.
For individual brilliance, Heikrujam Mangalleibi of SU was named Player of the Tournament for scoring 354 runs and taking 12 wickets in 7 matches, earning a trophy and Rs 2,000.Y Echampamu of MPA emerged as the highest run-getter with 354 runs in 7 innings, receiving a trophy and Rs 1,500.PTRC's Laitonjam Benita was named Emerging Player after taking 7 wickets and scoring 19 runs in 5 innings, taking home a trophy and Rs 1,000 .
