Imphal, December 30 2023: Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom won three gold medals and three silver medals in the senior men's Phunaba Ani events as 30th State Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Thang-Ta Championships enter fourth day.

Thang-Ta Maheikol's Century Heisnam opened the gold medal account in the senior men's competition by beating Peter CM of Haokok Thang-Ta Academy in the -62 kg category final.

Sapam Pritamjit (-80 kg) and Shandham Iralsana (+80 kg) of the same academy claimed the other two gold medals.

In the -54 kg category competition final, Sinam Lamjingba of Thoibi Thang-Ta defeated Laipubam Bishal Sharma of Thang-Ta Maheikol before Mutum Johnson of Thoibi Thang-Ta added another gold medal by beating Yumnam Umakanta of Thang-Ta Maheikol in the -62 kg category final.

Telheiba Asem (-46 kg) and Mutum Handsome (-70kg) of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta, Singjamei also won gold medals in their respective weight categories.

Senior Women's Phunaba Ama and Ani

In the senior women's phunaba ama competition, Ahanthem Celina of Thoibi Thang-Ta (-44 kg), Leitanthem Ayingbi of SCTTA-Waiton (-48 kg), Longjam Sophiya Chanu of Thang-Ta Maheikol (-52 kg), Huidrom Aleea Chanu of KTTCA (-60 kg), Thongam Devika of PAHULASHI (-68 kg) and Laishram Shelly of ANJIKA (-76 kg) bagged gold medals.

In the meantime, Likla Chanu of Thoibi Thang-Ta (-44 kg), Konjengbam Thaja of Thoibi Thang-Ta (-52 kg), Yumnam Dayarani of Thang-Ta Maheikol (-56 kg), Kolom Merina of IKTTCA (-60 kg), Nongthombam Anjali of BDHLTTA (-64 kg) and Chungkham Sonia of BDHLTTA (-72 kg) won gold medals in Phunaba Ani competition.

Junior Girls' Phunaba Ama and Ani

Longjam Roshni of BDHLTTA defeated Lairikyengbam Kalpana of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy for the -40 kg category gold medal in the junior girls Phunaba Ama competition as Thangjam Ithoibi of MESS-Pangei beat Chingkham Lingjelthoibi of BDHLTTA in the -52 kg category final.

Tonjam Roshikta of MESS (-48 kg), Naomom Dimple Devi of MESS (-56 kg), M Chanchan of MMAA, Moirangkampu (-65 kg) and Nongthomba Puja of ANJIKA (-70 kg) also clinched gold medals in the respective weight categories.

Monika Thangjam of IKTTCA-Moidangpok won the -52 kg category gold medal beating Luwang Chanu Thoibi of BDHLTTA in the Phunaba Ani competition final as Sarangthem Malemnganbi of Thoibi Thang-Ta defeated Heikrujam Dolly of IKTTCA for the -56 kg category crown.

Laishram Nibashini Chanu of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy (-44 kg) and AS Yungreiphi of Haokok Thang-Ta Academy (-48 kg) also won gold medals in their respective weight categories.
