FC Lamjao, ESU, FC Raengdai victorious in 18th Manipur State League

Imphal, January 21 2026:
FC Lamjao edge past TRUGPU, Nambol by 3-2 goals for the second Group C win as ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound thumped NESU, Khurai by 3-1 goals and FC Raengdai beat Rahee UC 1-0 in Group A matches of the 18th Manipur State League today.
In the first match of the day, TRUGPU conceded their early lead before clawing back into the game with a late equaliser but FC Lamjao snatched the winner deep four minutes into the stoppage time to walk away with all three points.
TRUGPU, who won 1-0 against Utlou FC in their Group C opening match, had a confident start and went ahead within 5 minutes as Yumnam Mangalsana made the most of an effort.
With FC Lamjao failing to convert their chances, TRUGPU entered the break with a 1-0 advantage.
The lead was however cancelled when Yumnam Mahesh finished off a brilliant team effort in the 54th minute before they sustained pressure and overturned the lead in the 77 th minute through Chongtham Rohit.
TRUGPU also responded with a series of runs and their efforts paid off in the 87th minute with defender Mangalsana proving his mettle yet again to close out the margin.
With the score levelled again, the two sides made their best efforts to find the winner but FC Lamjao emerged on top as midfielder Yumnam Avinash, who came off the bench after 73 minutes in place of Thoudam Amujao, stunned TRUGPU defenders to snatch the win four minutes into the stoppage time.
TRUGPU had three more minutes to respond but FC Lamjao held on to their lead to extend their winning run to two games.
In the first Group A match and the day's second, ESU rode on Taj Khan's brace to beat NESU by 3-1 goals and extend their winning streak to three games.
Naorem Kaba broke the deadlock in the 15th minute after carefully studying their rivals before Taj Khan scored back to back in the 38 th and the 43rd minutes to give ESU a 3-0 first half lead.
ESU then settled back mostly in the second half before relentless NESU succeeded to cut the margin in the 80th minute off a penalty converted by Maibam David.
ESU however beefed up their defence to make sure there was no alteration in the scoreline till the final whistle.
In the other Group A match of the day, FC Raengdai ended their two game losing run by handing Rahee UC a slender 1-0 loss.
Ningthoujam Abungton was on target in the 60th minute to seal the victory for FC Raengdai.
