9th MNCA Elite Tournament : TRAU thrash Model Club by 7 wickets for fourth straight victory, CYCLONE ease to third win

TRAU, Kwakeithel registered their fourth win on the trot in the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 with a 7-wicket thrashing of Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha.
Opting to field first at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, TRAU relied on strong bowling performances to bundle out Model Club for 126 runs in 30.1 overs before cruising to the winning 129 in 22.2 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.

Langlonyamba Meitankeishangbam 42 and Anand Naorem 34 produced leading batting performances for Model Club after a stuttering start before their slumped at 126.Mutum Swabhiman (2/31), Thangjam Rishi (2/25), Priyojit Kangabam (2/25) and Sanjembam Somokanta (2/10) all shared two wickets apiece in this innings as Somorjit Salam and Preethson Arubam picked a wicket apiece.
Chasing 127 for the win, Pukhrambam Prafullomani added 34 off 37 balls early on before Sanjenbam Somokanta (40 off 48 balls) and Bishworjit Nongmaithem (22 off 26 balls) produced an unbeaten 59-run partnership for the 4th wicket and took TRAU to winning 129 .
Sanjenbam Somokanta, who shone with both the bat and ball, was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CYCLONE posted their third win in four matches by defeating CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by 83 runs.
CRAU won the toss and opted to field first only to see CYCLONE amassing 233 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 40 overs.
Chasing 234 for the win, CRAU slumped to 150 all out in 33.3 overs as CYCLONE bowlers proved too effective.
Md Al Bashid (61 off 77 balls) and Abdul Kasim (53 not out off 37 balls) scored half centuries as Ningthoujam Thoiba added 40 off 50 balls in CYCLONE's innings that saw Bm Sabakhan claiming 3 wickets for CRAU.
Kishan Laishram however spun web around the CRAU line up and enjoyed a 6-wicket haul (6/14) to set up the batting collapse and eventually walked away with the player of the match award.
Suraj Nong and Abdul Kasim also picked a wicket apiece for CYCLONE .
