Imphal, May 14 2025:
PCC, YWC and PTRC all hardly broke a sweat en route to the quarterfinals of the 3rd MNCA Men's U19 One Day Trophy on Wednesday.
PCC laughed their way to the last-eight with a staggering 243-run win over YUCC in a lop-sided pre-quarterfinal clash at Khudeiband Lampak.
Batting first, PCC posted an imposing 262/5, thanks to a flamboyant 79 (60 balls, 7 fours, 3 sixes) from Lucky Thokchom and a composed 55 (82 balls) from Ziad Khan.
Max Warokpam Meitei (51) and Mairembam Lucky Meitei (34) provided the late flourish to ensure a daunting total.
YUCC's response was nothing short of disastrous.
Their innings lasted a mere 11.2 overs as they were skittled out for a paltry 19 - the lowest total of the tournament.
PCC's bowlers, Boocker Kangujam (5/6) and Lucky Thokchom (5/12), shared all 10 wickets between them, with YUCC's batters looking utterly clueless.
Only Khundrakpam Banny Singh (6) reached double figures in a batting card that featured five ducks.
YWC, meanwhile, demolished PTCC by 123 runs at Public Ground, Khangabok, securing their quarterfinal spot in dominant style.
YWC flexed their batting muscle to outgun PTCC in a match that saw a century, fiery cameos, and a spirited but futile chase.
YWC's Danell Seram was the star of the day, smashing an unbeaten 112 off just 82 balls (12 fours, 4 sixes) to propel his side to 255/7 .
Captain Yumnam Achouba (31 off 26) and Sorokhaibam Thoungamba Singh (26 off 42) provided solid support.
PTCC's chase never gained traction despite Roneljit Ayek-pam's aggressive 37 (29 balls, 7 fours).
Yumnam Athouba (2/22) and Pukhrambam Roshan Khuman (2/25) kept the pressure on, while Seram Tondonsana (2/17) polished off the tail.
PTCC were eventually bundled out for 132 in 32.2 overs, handing YWC a comprehensive victory.
At Moijing Public Ground, PTRC booked their place in the quarterfinals with a 9-wicket thrashing of TRAU.
PTRC delivered a masterclass in bowling dominance to dismantle TRAU, Kwakeithel in a match that lasted just 30.3 overs.
Opting to bat first, TRAU's innings never gained momentum as Bush Sagolsem (4/24) and the sensational Laitonjam Jackson Singh (5/3) ran riot.
Jackson's spell was particularly devastating - his five-wicket haul came at an astonishing economy rate of 0.75, including three maidens.
TRAU's captain, Huiningshumbam Luching, fought a lone battle with a brisk 45 (32 balls, 9 fours, 1 six), but his dismissal triggered a collapse from 49 3 to 79 all out.
In reply, PTRC made light work of the chase, romping home in just 9.3 overs.
Opener Salam Richie blazed an unbeaten 51 off 34 balls (9 fours), showcasing aggressive intent, while Priyoji Thongam (10) provided brief support before falling to Gurumayum Shivestian Sharma.
