Ambeshwori claims silver for MU at Inter-University boxing competition

Imphal, December 24 2024: Huidrom Ambeshwori Devi, a fourth-semester student at Kamakhya Pemton College (Hiyangthang), secured a silver medal in the 63kg category at the All India Inter-University Boxing (Women) Competition 2024-25, held at Guru Kashi University, Bathinda, Punjab.

The week-long event concluded on Tuesday.

Ambeshwori earned her silver medal in the 63kg category.

She went down fighting, losing 2-3 in the final to Sapna Devi of Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab.

Earlier in the competition, Ambeshwori had a dominant 5-0 win over K Monisha of University of Madras in their quarterfinal bout, before she repeated the same score in the semifinal against Banshika Singh of University of Rajasthan on her way to the final.

The Manipur University boxing team was accompanied by assistant professor Moirangthem Sunderchand (Shree Shree Gourgovind Girls' College, Khurai) and coach Moirangthem Shyam-chandra Singh.
