Imphal, March 25 2025: In a pulsating final, X-Polo Club (Wangkhei) held their nerve to defeat a dogged MPSC-B 6-5 and lift the coveted 37th N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2025 trophy in front of an enthralled crowd at Mapal Kangjeibung on Tuesday.

The match was a rollercoaster of momentum shifts, with X-Polo's trio of L Atangba, Santosh Singh, and Th Jacob each firing a brace to secure victory in a fiercely contested battle.

MPSC-B started strong, with T Pradeep and H Abung Khuman finding the mark in the opening chukker to take a 2-1 lead, Atangba keeping X-Polo in the hunt with a well-timed goal.

The second chukker saw Santosh Singh step up, slotting two brilliant goals to level the score at 3-3, despite Viking Salam's effort for MPSC-B .

The third chukker was a tense stalemate, with both defences holding firm.

But the final chukker delivered high drama - Th Jacob exploded with two crucial goals, while Atangba added another to give X-Polo a decisive edge.

Viking Salam struck twice for MPSC-B, but X-Polo's resilience saw them cling to their narrow lead until the final whistle, sparking jubilant celebrations.

For their triumph, X-Polo Club took home the winners' purse of Rs 50,000, while runners-up MPSC-B earned Rs 40,000 .

Young Star Polostar secured third place and Rs 10,000 .
