PCC, WYC script wins in MNCA Superplate tourney

Imphal, December 24 2024: PCC and WYC triumphed in Tuesday's league round matches of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 .

In Group A, PCC thumped YUCC by 6 wickets at the Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College Ground.

Batting first, YUCC struggled against PCC's disciplined bowling attack, collapsing to 110 all out iri 30.4 overs.

Devraj Nongthombam (23) was the only batter to cross the 20-run mark.

Rohit Soubam spearheaded PCC's bowling with figures of 3/22, while L Chingkheihunba and Longjam Ronald claimed two wickets each.

Naorem Johnson and Longjam Gibson chipped in with one wicket apiece.

PCC chaspd down the target comfortably in 17.4 overs, guided by Longjam Ronald s unbeaten 55 .

Charoibam Tyson (17), Longjam Gibson (13), and Rohit Soubam (9 not out) provided valu able contributions.

YUCC's bowlers managed to claim four wickets, with Somraj Nongthombam taking two and Devraj Nongthombam and Khundrakpam Kenedy picking up one each.

Meanwhile, in a Group B clash at Moijing Public Ground, WYC defeated YWC by 2 wickets.

YWC opted to bat first and managed 129/9 in 33 overs.

Huirongbam Biteshwor starred with the ball for WYC, claiming 4 wickets, while Ruhit Nongmaithem picked up two.

Mangi Shar-man, Thoudam Roshankumar, and Wangkhem Laksman took one wicket each.

In response, WYC achieved the target in 27.2 overs, with Priyananda Thokchom leading the charge with a crucial 49.Jiko Sorokhaibam (25) and Seram Robinson (27) also played key roles.

Despite Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba's exceptional 5-wick -et haul for YWC, his efforts were in vain as WYC secured the win with two wickets in hand.
