FCR, RAU to clash in final of Maj Laishram Jyotin football tourney

Imphal, March 20 2025: FCR and RAU triumphed in their respective semifinals of the 1st Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ashok Chakra (Posthumous) Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2025, held at Moirang Multipurpose Hr Sec School Ground on Thursday, setting the stage for a highly anticipated title clash.

The first semifinal saw FCR narrowly defeat SSU with a 1-0 victory, thanks to a decisive goal by Laishram Bikramjit in the 9th minute.

Bikramjit's early strike proved to be the difference, as FCR's defence held firm to secure their place in the final.

In the second semifinal, RAU delivered a commanding performance, beating WAFA 2-0.Ng Jiten emerged as the hero for RAU, opening the scoring in just the 2nd minute with a clinical finish.

Jiten then sealed the victory in the 75th minute with his second goal of the match, showcasing his sharp instincts and securing RAU's spot in the final.
