23rd State Veteran Table Tennis Championship gets underway

Imphal, March 07 2025: The 23rd State Veterans Table Tennis Championship 2024-25, organised by the Manipur Veterans Table tennis Association (MVTTA), commenced on Friday at the Indoor Stadium, DMU Campus.

The opening day's fixtures saw S Joychandra and Dr T Manihar emerge victorious in their respective semifinal matches in the 60+ men's singles category, setting the stage for title clash.

In the first semifinal, S Joychandra delivered a dominant performance, defeating Th Rajendra 11-2, 11-9, 11-1 .

Meanwhile, in the second semifinal, Dr T Manihar overcame Siba Veimy with scores of 12-11, 11-9, 11-5 .

The championship commenced with an opening ceremony attended by MVTTA Secretary Th Jayanta Singh, vice-president Ch Nody, former vice-president G Par phulo, and former secretary RK Deben.

As many as 98 male and female players are competing across multiple age categories, including 40+, 50+, 60+, 65+, and 70+ .
