KFA beat Nelson FC to secure 2nd YFC Football Tournament title

Imphal, March 20 2025: Indian Army organised the 2nd YFC Football Tournament from February 17 to March 18, 2025, bringing together 32 teams from diverse backgrounds for a month-long competition.

The final match was held on March 18 in Yambem, Imphal East, where KFA triumphed over Nelson FC with a narrow one-goal victory.

The tournament commenced with league-stage matches from February 17 to 28, followed by the knockout rounds from March 1 to 10 .

The semifinals, featuring the top four teams, took place on March 12 and 13, setting the stage for an intense final.

The championship match drew over 2,000 spectators from Changamdabi, Yambem, Yaripok, Andro, and neighbouring villages in Imphal East and Thoubal districts.

The winners and runners-up were awarded the rolling trophy, while individual honours, including medals for all finalists, the best goalkeeper, and the best player of the Tournament, were presented by the Indian Army.

The golden boot trophy was awarded to Langanba of Teloy FC for being the tournament's highest scorer.

Additionally, the referees and the organising committee were recognised for their contributions.
