Imphal, March 07 2025: FOOTGAL 3.0, an initiative by the Churachandpur district administration aimed at raising awareness on the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign and promoting inclusive elections, concluded on Friday at the JP Leisure Centre, Bungmual.

The closing ceremony was attended by Churachandpur DC Dharun Kumar, Pearsonmun chief Khaikhomang Tonsing, Major Yadu Krishna of 37 Assam Rifles, CSOs, district-level officers and students.

The event featured a performance on BBBP Anthem by local artistes, along with choreography and traditional dance.

A pledge-taking ceremony was also conducted led by ADC Thangboi Gangte.

In his address as the chief guest, Dharun Kumar S commended achievements of the BBBP initiative over the past decade, particularly improvement in sex ratio, women's safety, and educational rights.

He encouraged district level officials and community leaders to further elevate the dignity of women and urged parents to support the continued education of their daughters after graduation.

He expressed his hope for Churachandpur to serve as a model district in North East India for women's rights and dignity.

The tournament wrapped up with Chingbiaklawm of Sports Outreach (SOII) being named Best Player, Nemkichoi Haokip of PLL (Girls) as Top Scorer and Thempi of The Chosen Team as Best Keeper.

Team ZEO won the Fair Play Team award.

The Chosen Team emerged as the champions, with SOII as the runners-up and PLL (Girls) securing third place.

A total of 22 teams participated in the tournament.
