TRAU, CYCLONE ease to victories in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, February 07 2025: TRAU and CYCLONE triumphed with ease in Friday's league round matches of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25 .

TRAU dominated MODEL by 7 wickets in their meeting at Model Hr Sec & Oriental College Ground.

A disciplined bowling performance saw TRAU dismiss MODEL for 126 in 30.1 overs.

Mutum Swabhiman, Thangjam Rishi, Priyojit Kangabam, and Sanjembam Somokanta each claimed two wickets, while Somorjit Salam and Preethson Arubam chipped in with one wicket apiece, setting the stage for a comfortable chase.

Langlonyamba (42) and Anand Naorem (34) were the key contributors for MODEL.

Chasing the target, TRAU reached 127/3 in 22.2 overs, with Sanjembam Somokanta (40*), Bishworjit Nongmaithem (22*), and Pukhrambam Prafullomani (34) guiding the team to victory.

Meanwhile, CYCLONE recorded an emphatic 83-run triumph over CRAU at Moijing Public Ground.

After being put in to bat, CYCLONE posted a competitive total of 233/6, powered by a solid 61 from Muhammed Al Bashid, an unbeaten 53 from Abdul Kasim, and 44 from Loktongbam Santosh.

Additional contributions from Md Aqeel (19), Loktongbam Santosh (17), Nongthombam Denin (16), and Kishan Laishram (13) further bolstered the innings.

In reply, CRAU were bowled out for 150 in 33.3 overs, despite a fighting 54 from Lamabam Jotin.

CYCLONE's bowling unit delivered a dominant performance, with Kishan Laishram leading the charge with a remarkable six-wicket haul, while Suraj Nong and Abdul Kasim added one wicket each to seal a commanding win.
