Imphal, December 13 2023: KCC-Kongba will lock horns with MPSC-Old Lambulane in the title clash of the 3rd MNCA Super Plate Tournament on December 16 as they registered semi-final victories today against their rivals.

The wins also earned both the teams a promotion to Elite Group.

In the first semi-final match staged this morning at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, KCC rode on K Mranojit and N Shingthoi to pull off a 37 run victory against PCC to seal the final ticket.

PCC won the toss and decided to field first.

They succeeded in bundling out KCC for 181 runs within 38.3 overs through a concerted bowling effort but failed horribly in the chase and ended up collecting only 144 runs for 9 wickets.

Put in to bat first, KCC had a slow start with K Mranojit 100-ball 60 and M Rohen 24 taking on the PCC bowlers.

PCC bowling attack led by M Lucky 3/26 proved effective in keeping the run rate in check.

With L Ronal 2/32 and Pravin Kumar 2/40 providing the assist, KCC were bowled out for 181 runs despite N Arbin 35 and Y Sheiteendra 19 too adding double digit runs.

In reply, PCC lost Ajay early for 1 and saw a good partnership between L Gibson 31 and Th Anand 20.But things went downhill after the duo went out as N Shingthoi ran riot on the way to his 4/24 in 8 overs that included a maiden.

Later, Ch Ranjan added the highest 35 off 29 balls but it was too late for the team.

Y Sheiteendra 1/21, W Somorjit 1/28 and N Arbin also chipped in with a wicket apiece to earn KCC the victory.

Shingthoi who produced a crucial bowling performance for KCC was adjudged man of the match.

Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, Gelson's sensible batting helped MPSC-Lambulance register a 4 wicket win against YWC-L who posted a meagre target of 109 runs after opting to bat first.

YWC-L were bundled out for 108 runs in 34.1 overs (35 overs pers side) as Kingson 3/29 and Bijoykumar 2/13 shared a bulk of crucial wickets.

N Bishwash 29, N Bingson 28, Y Vivek 13 and Prasantamani 10 managed double digit figures for YWC-L in their innings which also saw Indraban, Shangker and Gelson of MPSC claim a wicket apiece.

MPSC then rode on sensible knocks from Gelson 31, Sunil 19, and Sudesh 25 to reach the target within 29 overs with 4 wickets left to spare.

Vivek 2/18, Prasantamani 2/18 and Robinson 2/9 all claimed two wickets apiece but in a lost cause.
