7th Khelo India Youth Games 2025 : K Prithibiraj, P Ambika settle for bronze in Fencing; L Radhamani assured of a boxing medal

Imphal, May 11 2025:
The 8th day of the 7th Khelo India Youth Games 2025 being hosted by Bihar across 6 cities saw Manipur add two more bronze medals to the tally from Fencing discipline.
With two bronze medals won today, Manipur have so far amassed 14 medals including 6 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Manipur's Kangabam Prithibiraj had to settle for a bronze medal in the men's individual foil event as he suffered a 11-15 loss to Haryana's Sachin in a semifinal match today.
Another fencer, Pangambam Ambika also ended up with a bronze medal with a 11-15 semi-final loss to Taanbi of Haryana.
The Fencing discipline is underway at Indoor Hall, Rajhir Sports Complex, Hall 2 .
The competition began today and will culminate on May 15 .
Manipur suffer semi-final loss in Women's Football
Manipur incurred a huge 0-5 loss to Jharkhand in a semi-final clash of women's football today at IOCL Barauni, Begusarai.
Although they failed to reach the final, they still remain in the hunt for the bronze medal as they are set to face Haryana in the third place match.
Boxing: L Radhamani in semis
The day also saw Manipur's Longjam Radhamani assuring herself at least a bronze medal as she made it to the women's 57 kg category semi-final in the boxing competition.
Radhamani, who defeated Babita of Uttarakhand comfortably, yesterday sealed a similar win against Haryana's Aiju in the quarterfinal match to reach the semi-finals.
However, Manipur's Gunshalu Khumba went down to Haryana rival Navya in a quarterfinal bout.
Tennis: Shanker eases into semi-finals
Manipur's Heisnam Shanker also boosted medal hopes for the State as he entered into the semi-finals of the men's singles tennis competition at IAS Bhawan in Patna.
Having defeated Mizoram rival yesterday in the first round, Shanker carried forward his momentum and eased past Punjab's Hitesh Chauhan 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinal match to book his semi-final ticket.
Badminton: H Malemnganba too advances into semis
Manipur's shuttler Hemam Malemnganba also made it to the semi-finals of the men's singles competition being underway at Sandy's Compound ground, Bhagalpur.
Malemnganba who outlasted his Uttar Pradesh rival 21-15, 21-3 yesterday in the first round, went on to impress by producing a dominating straight sets win (21-9, 21-11) against Santosh of Tamil Nadu today in the quarterfinal match.
