38th National Games : L Rojina strikes gold as State archers add three medals on Day 11; one medal assured in Lawn Bowls

It was a double delight for ace State archer Laiphrakpam Rojina Devi to State's coffer in the 38th National Games 2025 being hosted by Uttarakhand.
The day belonged to State archers as another bronze medal was added to Manipur's tally from the discipline held at RGICS Ground, Dehradun.
The gold medal came as a welcome relief for the State contingent as the State's medal haul was circling around bronze medals for the past few days.
With the three medals won today, Manipur's overall tally swells to 36 medals including 12 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals.

Archery On the concluding day of the Archery event, the young and talented Manipur's archer Laiphrakpam Rojina Devi aims her shot to perfection to edge her Chhattisgarh rival Chandani Chahu in the women's individual 50 meters Indian Round competition final round this afternoon.
Archer Rojina, a resident of Langmeidong in Kakching district had also bagged a gold medal in the team event in the 37th National Games at Goa.
In a recent interview with Manipur Olympic Association Media Team, Rojina informed that she was yearning to get hold of a gold medal in her chosen profession and would give her a hundred percent shot this time.
Rojina also teamed up with Moirangthem Baby Devi and Millennia Thokchom in the 50 meter Indian Round Women Team event and grabbed the silver medal to add another feather to her cap.
Manipur male archer Ch Nelson Singh, meanwhile won a bronze medal in the men's individual 50 meter Indian Round competition.
As many as twelve archers including seven women represented Manipur in the Games.
Lawn Bowls
In another heartwarming development, men's fours lawn bowl team have assured themselves of a medal by securing wins against Delhi and Bihar on the way to earning a semi-final berth.
The men's fours team comprising Kongkham Hemandro Singh, Mohd Aftab Ahmad Khan, Moirangthem Mangalleiba and Yambem Tomthin had beaten Delhi team by 19-6 points and overcame Bihar team by 16-15 points to seal their place in the last-four stage of the discipline being underway at Hockey Practice Ground, MPSC, Dehradun.
Taekwondo
Manipur did not fare well in the Taekwondo event as Poomse Mixed Pair and the Kyorugi team could not proceed beyond the quarter final round held today.
Wrestling team depart
In the meantime, a six-member Manipur Wrestling team left Imphal today for the mega sporting event at Uttarakhand.
The wrestling event will be held at Haridwar from February 10-13 .
The wrestlers who are representing Manipur at the games include Luwang Chanu Linthoi, Jenista Ningombam, M Taibanganba, N Jameson while M Muhindro as coach and L Brojendro as manager.
