Body appeals not to hike fertilizer price

Imphal, July 18 2024: Pointing out that price of fertilizer fixed by government at Rs 420 per bag is being sold anywhere between Rs 520 and Rs 750, consequently burdening the farmers amidst the present unrest situation in the state, Anouba Senmitlon has urged dealer/agent/sub-dealer and individuals concerned not to arbitrarily hike rate of fertilizers.

In a release, Anouba Senmitlon secretary general N Yaima Meetei appealed fertilizer traders to approach the organisation for discussion to clear confusion and contestation.

He also urged the department concerned to ensure adequate fertilizers to the farmers so as to increase food production.
