AR pays tribute to brave-hearts

Imphal, July 18 2024: Assam Rifles on Thursday held a wreath-laying ceremony to honour riflemen Lil Bahadur Pun, Dayal Singh Rawat, Bahadur Singh Bisht, and Bal Bahadur Mal of 15 Assam Rifles, who, according to PRO IGAR (S), made the ultimate sacrifice on July 18, 1963 during a firefight with underground elements at Nagatoto village in Nagaland's Zunheboto district.

The ceremony was attended by a contingent comprising four officers, 19 JCOs, and 105 other ranks.

Assam Rifles paid tribute to the four gallant soldiers by laying wreaths and saluting their supreme sacrifice for the nation, said the PRO in a release.
