Imphal, July 22 2015 : An iron bridge located along Motbung-Pukhao road has collapsed early morning yesterday.

An approximately 70 feet long iron bridge has been the only source of connectivity for the entire populace particularly the farmers of the area.

Speaking to media persons this evening at Motbung, SL Lamthang, chairman, Motbung Village Authority, said that the department concerned failed to maintain quality during the construction of the bridge.

Drawing the attention of local MLA Ngamthang Haokip, SL Lamthang further said that Bolkot, Thingsat, Pukhao area and other villages have been totally cut off.

He urged the State Government to restore the bridge at the earliest.
