Torch items seized

Imphal, July 22 2015 :
Imphal West district police have seized a large number of bamboo-cuts and huge quantity of kerosene, which are kept by locals to make torches, from Thangmeiband area today.
Police said that the measure was taken up to prevent the locals from taking out torch rallies at night.

The police team seized around 300 bamboo-cuts from a meira paibee shed and kerosene from different shops during an operation.
Since the past few days, people in four valley districts have been taking out torch rallies at night as part of the ongoing pro-ILPS agitation.
