Imphal, February 12, 2011: Troops of 5 AR apprehended two NSCN(IM) cadres while they were extorting money from a truck on NH 39 at a Senapati forest check post.

They were handed over to the police.

N Kayeo (22) son of Neli of Tadubi village and Pfokrehrii Ashihrii (30) son of Pfokhehrii of Songsong village, Mao gate were arrested by troops of 5 AR near the Senapati Forest Check post around 1 pm of February 9 while extorting money from a truck (MN-04-6936, an official report said.

The AR handed them over to the police with a seal of GPRN Ministry of Forest and Environment, Rs.8540 in cash and two mobile handsets.

The Tata Sumo (NL 0K-3059) they came with has also been handed over, the official source added.
