Imphal, April 23 2026:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity isn't boycotting any individual but the BJP's "policy which is aiding and providing sanctuary" to armed Kuki militants, said the committee's advisor, Jeetendra Ningomba at a sit-in protest demonstration at Khongman Zone-III Community Hall today.
The protest demonstration was organised by Meira Paibi organisations condemning the killing of civilians in Tronglaobi and TM Kasom recently.
Two children were killed in a suspected Kuki militant bomb attack at Tronglaobi and three more civilians were killed in CRPF firing on protesters in Tronglaobi on April 7.Days later on April 18, two Tangkhul Nagas were killed in a suspected Kuki militant ambush at TM Kasom.
During the protest at Khongman, Jeetendra said Manipur will continue to face violent conflicts and attacks on civilians until "Kuki narco-terrorists" are completely driven out of the State.
He said both the Central Government and the State Government are responsible for the prolonged violent conflicts in Manipur.
He accused the Government of India of "using armed Kuki militants as proxies to wage war against indigenous people of Manipur".
While the Government of India remains deaf to people's call to resolve the crises, it is implementing its policies at whim, and "our State leaders" are remaining silent ignoring the aspirations of the people, he said.
COCOMI's decision to boycott BJP's policies and programmes was taken to demonstrate public frustration against the party, he added.
Jeetendra urged Meira Paibi organisations and the public to join COCOMI's scheduled mass protest on April 25.Key decisions regarding future course of actions will be taken on the day, and all MLAs and Ministers will be urged to state their stand on the Manipur crises, he added.
Speaking at the protest demonstration, COCOMI's Consultative Committee member Sunil Karam accused the Government of treating protesters as criminals.
He said no visible action has been initiated yet against CRPF personnel involved in the April 7 firing which killed 3 protesters and injured several others.
When the whole of the public are protesting the Tronglaobi killings and demanding justice for the victims, the Chief Minister is busy inaugurating new projects, he said.
It was very unbecoming of a leader to travel to Wangjing by air to inaugurate a Block Development Office, he added.
