NH-202 construction to complete this year: Transport Minister

Transport Minister Khashim Vashum has said that the construction of National Highway 202 from Imphal to Jessami will be completed this year.
The Imphal-Jessami road project will pass through Ukhrul Headquarters.
Reportedly, the Transport Minister chaired a closed door meeting at the conference hall of Ukhrul Mini Secretariat and held discussion on the construction of the highway stretch with Ukhrul AC MLA Ram Muivah, DC Kengoo Zuringla, Additional SP Ringthing Hongchui, NHIDCL officials, representatives of the construction firms, TNL representatives, headmen and DLOs for over two hours.
Speaking to the media later, Khashim Vashum said that the construction of the highway stretch will be completed before the end of 2024 if there is no interruption.
He also said that today's meeting was very fruitful.
Saying that the headmen of TM Kasom and Ramva village and TNL have also agreed to extend full cooperation to the project, the Minister continued that NHIDCL officials have asked the project implementing agencies to commence the work as soon as possible.
Construction of Yaingangpokpi to Ukhrul road stretch is also progressing with nearly 60 per cent of the project already done while the Imphal-Jessami road project will be implemented once the land acquisition process is over.
