Imphal, November 10 2025:
Strongly condemning the blunder on the last day of Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination (MCSCCE) 2022, six student bodies of Manipur have demanded the State authority to form a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the Secured Printing Press responsible for printing the question paper.
They have also informed relevant State departments that a prohibition has been imposed on any further engagement with this printing press for any examination in the State, according to a joint statement.
Notably, the Controller of Examination of Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) had attributed the mismatch between the heading of the question paper for Paper-IV (General Studies-III) with the content inside due to an "error of the Secured Printing Press" in a clarification issued yesterday.
Both Paper IV (General Studies III) and Paper V (General Studies IV) have been rescheduled on November 22, 2025 .
In this connection, the student bodies also met the MPSC Examination Controller who reiterated the mistake made by the printing press based outside Manipur.
Further, the six student organisations have appealed the printing press to avoid printing any question papers for exams of the State in the future.
On another note, they have accused the MPSC of grave negligence and lack of supervision in the conduct of the exam which is tasked with selecting future bureaucrats, civil servants, officers etc .
The six student organisations are All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF), Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA), Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) and Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) .
Separately, the Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has also condemned MPSC for "unprecedented negligence" and demanded the constitution of a high-level inquiry committee to identify those responsible and initiation of disciplinary action, including against senior officials of the MPSC.
It has also demanded a public apology from MPSC and called for implementation of strict preventive mechanisms to avoid recurrence of such administrative lapses in future examinations.
