Imphal, August 23 2023:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has informed that they have been invited by Union Home Amit Shah to hold a discussion on Manipur violence tomorrow (August 24) at 8 pm.
In a statement, COCOMI said that the invitation was sent to them through BJP National spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Saying that a 15-member team of the Committee has been prepared for the meeting with the Union Home Minister, COCOMI continued that they will try to meet other Central leaders whilst at the National Capital.
It further said that COCOMI will explain all the details of the violence to the Union Home Minister.
COCOMI appealed to the people to continue safeguarding the unity and integrity of Manipur from Kuki narco-terrorists who intruded into the State and demanded separate administration for their kindred tribes and against other threats.
The violence broke out after the Tribal Solidarity March taken out under the aegis of ATSUM on May 3 turned violent and Meitei settlement areas were attacked.
Following the incident, clips of Kuki militants with sophisticated weapons taking part in attacking Meitei villages were uploaded and shared by many.
