Memorial of 'Shaheed Surjit' installed

Imphal, March 27 2025: A memorial of Shaheed CT/GD Surjit Singh of 31 Bn CRPF, who was martyred on January 1, 2003, has been installed by 109 Bn CRPF, Mongsangei, at Kakching Ningthou Leikai (Mandop Maning) his home town, on Thursday.

As per a release of 109 Bn CRPF, homage and tribute were paid to the martyr by 109 Bn commandant Brijesh Kumar, second-in-commandant Anil Kumar and personnel during the programme.

The programme was organised in the presence of ex-MLA Th Tomba Singh, Shaheed Surjit's family and villagers of his home town.

In his address, Brijesh Kumar said: "All of us have gathered here to pay our respect and homage to a brave son of our motherland Shaheed Surjit Singh, who laid down his life for the sake of our Nation and its people" .

"His selfless act will always be remembered and cherished.

As we stand here today, we again remember Shaheed Surjit's unwavering commitment to our Nation's values and principles.

We honour his memory and reiterate our pledge to uphold the ideals for which he fought.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of Shaheed Surjit and salute his bravery and sacrifice.

May this martyr memorial continue to inspire us to work towards a brighter future for our Nation," he said.
