Imphal, March 20 2025: A cyber security lab was opened at Manipur Police Training College (MPTC), Pangei under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology's project called "Empowering Police Personnel and Government officials of NE States through IT and Cyber Security Training" .

Imphal West DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar opened the lab on Wednesday which would impart training on cyber security to police personnel, CID personnel and other law enforcing agencies.

The lab was opened under National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal.

Speaking at the inaugural function, NIELIT Imphal Executive Director Dr Yumnam Jayanta said that NIELIT Imphal would provide computer sets, furniture and maintenance service for a period of three years.

NIELIT Imphal would also impart training on cyber security to 3000 police personnel, CID and other law enforcing agencies during the same period.

The same training would be given to the public after three years, Jayanta said.

MPTC Assistant Director Md Abdul Kalam was also present at the inaugural function.
