Police today foiled a rally of the freshly recruit police constable (drivers and dispatch riders), intents to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding expediting the process of joining to their service.
The rally originated from Kakwa Asem Leikai, where a meeting held under the banner of the Manipur Police Constable (Drivers/Dispatch Riders) Welfare Association before, was dispersed by the police on reaching Moirangkhom on the Indo-Myanmar section of the NH-39 and foiled the attempt to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister.
The rally was marched on smoothly until a team of police led by OC of Singjamei police intercept and intervened nearby the Moirangkhom area.
Police also refused to the request of the rallyists to allow some representatives proceed and submit the memorandum to the Chief Minister.
Before the rally carry out, a meeting of the freshly recruited personnel for the post of police constable drivers and dispatch riders was held under the banner of Manipur Police Constable (Drivers/Dispatch Riders) Welfare Association at the community hall at Kakwa Asem Leikai.
The meeting thoroughly discussed on the delay in allowing joining of service even five to six month had passed since the order of appointment issued on November 6, 2009 .
A total of 1505 candidates who had been listed in the order for appointment issued are still to get job offer forms.
"This ordinate delay in the process of joining service causes much harm to them," the meeting resolved and decided to submit memorandum to the chief minister to address their grievances at the earliest.
However, the memorandum could not reach to the Chief Minister.
