MU signs MoU to aid students

Imphal, March 20 2025:
Manipur University (MU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt Ltd (ETCPL), Imphal today.
According to a release issued by MU's Public Relations Officer, Dr Sakila Nongmeikapam, this partnership marks a significant milestone in enhancing skill development and training programs for students, ultimately boosting their employability in the job market.
The MoU was signed by Prof Th Binoy Singh, Registrar (in-charge) of Manipur University (MU) and Sentirenla Longkumer, Centre Director of ETCPL to promote skill development, vocational training programmes, internships, placements, and campus recruitment drives which will benefit both the institutions.
Sentirenla Longkumer emphasized the importance of providing National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)-aligned, placement-linked skill development training in sectors such as aviation, tourism, hospitality, and customer service.
She underscored the programme's goal of producing trained and skilled professionals, especially among Manipur's youth, equipped with the latest knowledge and professional skills required to deliver world-class services in today's rapidly evolving customer service sectors.
Prof N Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University (MU), highlighted the institution's commitment to providing employability skills and knowledge to its students, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 .
He emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in offering training and skill development programmes that align with the objective of the New Education Policy 2020 .
The signing event was also attended by Anirban Mukherjee, Operations Manager of ETCPL and his team; Prof A Rajmani Singha, Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), MU and Dr Nambram Amulkumar, Head of Vocational Studies and Skill Development (DVSSD), School of Social Sciences, MU .
