AR assists in containing massive fire

Imphal, March 07 2025: Assam Rifles assisted the local population in containing a massive hre that broke out in Hijang village in Kangpokpi district on Thursday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the troops on routine patrolling detected a fire rapidly spreading through the village around 6:25 pm after which Assam Rifles immediately mobilised to the site, executing a well-coordinated rescue and containment effort.

The prompt action ensured the safe evacuation of 25 civilians, including women and children, while preventing the fire from engulfing nearby structures.

The quick reaction and efficient execution of firefighting measures prevented significant damage, highlighting the force's ability to respond decisively in crisis situations, the PRO conveyed.
