Imphal, April 21 2026 :
Sanjoy Sorokhaibam, president of the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), has accused the Government of India (GoI) of continuing the colonial policies devised by the British to create divisions among the people and keep Manipur in a constant state of turmoil.
Speaking at a discussion programme held on the theme "Tronglaobi Massacre and People's Movement" held at Bamon Kampu today, Sanjoy stated that the people of Manipur have been enduring hardships since the State's merger with India.
Claiming that the Gol has been waging a proxy war against the indigenous people of Manipur since May 3, 2023, using mercenaries, who are allegedly receiving logistical support from Indian machinery, Sanjoy emphasised that the disintegration of Manipur, however, would eventually lead to the breakdown of India itself.
He stated that AMUCO and its allies will continue to resist the ongoing proxy war.
In the past, security forces killed many people under AFSPA, now, the Gol is employing a proxy war to maintain control over Manipur, Sanjoy said and alleged that self-determination is now the only viable path to a lasting solution to the crisis plaguing Manipur.
Jeetendra Ningomba, advisor to the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), stated that the crisis in Manipur is being caused by illegal immigrants.
It is a war against the indigenous people, one that is being waged not only with weapons but also through population manipulation by Kuki narco terrorists, he said.
However, he clarified that not all Kukis are involved in the sinister designs of the Kuki narco-terrorists.
Jeetendra also asked whether the Government has made any arrests in connection with the bomb attack at Tronglaobi.
While the Government claims to have arrested some individuals in connection with the case, neither their identities nor any details have been made public, he said, questioning whether the Government is trying to suppress the people's emotions by lying.
Leaders of AKRUCO and organisations also attended the programme organised by Huirem Leikai Sports and Youths Development Organisation and Huirem Leikai Women Welfare Association.
