Imphal, May 07 2026:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has accused the Indian Government of turning a blind eye to external aggression in Manipur, while strongly condemning today's attack on three villages in Kamjong district, allegedly carried out by Myanmar-based KNA (B) and PDF.
COCOMI, in a statement issued by its convenor Phijam Shyamchand, stated that Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists have been carrying out a series of violent attacks, firing on civilians and burning houses in Ukhrul and Kamjong since February.
Two civilians were killed in an ambush near TM Kasom on April 18, it reminded.
COCOMI claimed that today's attacks on residents of Namlee, Wanglee, and Choro villages in Manipur's Kamjong district, including the burning of houses and market sheds by foreign terrorists, clearly demonstrate that the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army are working hand in glove with them.
Alleging that the Indian Government remains silent even when Myanmar-based terrorists entered Manipur and attacked its citizens, the Committee claimed that the Central Government has been conspiring to wipe out the indigenous people of the State.
Also expressing its disappointment with the State Government.
COCOMI asked whether the State Government is under the control of the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army.
The Committee cautioned that the indigenous people of Manipur would vanish if the State Government continues to remain a silent spectator to the war waged against its citizens by foreigners.
Saying that the Indian Government responded promptly to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, by boldly launching Operation Sindoor, COCOMI questioned what action the Centre would take in response to the external aggression in Ukhrul and Kamjong.
COCOMI, also said that the Government of India must end its proxy war and drive but the terrorists from Myanmar if it genuinely wishes to resolve the crisis in Manipur.
