Over 10 thousand houses damaged

The figure of houses damaged due to floods and landslides in Manipur has reached 10,477, while the number of villages affected has reached 174, as per the latest bulletin issued by the Director of Relief and Disaster Management.
As per the bulletin, the disasters resulted in one person still missing, 64 animal fatalities, and four individuals sustaining injuries.
A total of 2913 individuals have been evacuated from flood-affected residential areas and relocated to 57 relief camps set up to provide shelter.
Meanwhile, even as widespread destruction has been caused across the State due to the swelling of rivers and riverbank collapse, several rivers in Manipur continue to remain above the high flood mark.
However, except for the Manipur River, the water levels of Imphal, Iril, Nambol, Nambul, and Thoubal Rivers showed a decrease between the 10 am and 2 pm readings today.
The water level of Imphal River recorded at 787.725m at Minuthong (high flood level stands at 788.40m) and 783.400m at Lilong (high flood level stands at 782.85) gauge sites at 10 am, decreased to 787.5m and 783.050m respectively by the next reading (2 pm).
The Iril River was flowing at 788.350m at the Irilbung bridge gauge site (high flood level: 789.20m) at 10 am, and its water level later decreased to 788.300m at the next reading.
Recorded at the Hump Bridge (high flood level: 783.675m), the Nambul River's water level dropped from 783.450m at 10 am to 783.175m at 2 pm.
The Nambol River, recorded at Nambol, was flowing at 774.400m at 2 pm .
The Thoubal River was the only one flowing below the warning level of 778.915m, with a recorded water level of 777.125m at the Thoubal Bridge gauge site at 2 pm .
The Manipur River (recorded at Ithai Barrage) was flowing at 769.100m at 2 pm reading, slightly above the high flood level of 769.32m .
