Many pay floral tributes at Tribal Martyrs Park

People in clusters have since morning paid floral tributes to the nine tribal Martyrs at the Tribal Martyrs Memorial Park, Mata Dam even as they observed the fourth Tribal Unity Day under the aegis of JACAATB, the committee that spearheads movement against the Anti-Tribal Bills and signed MoU with the State Govt.People started arriving in steady but in small numbers since day-break as was called by the JAC, to pay their tributes to the people who have made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of the fellow tribal in 2015 .

Though the number dwindled at noon, it soon picked-up its pace as the scorching sun weakens in the afternoon.
The JAC Convenor H Mangchinkhup, who was present at the Park most of the day, addressed to a handful of people that still remained at the site until sunset, to reiterate that the State Govt is yet to fulfil the terms of the MoU it has signed with them.
This he said clearly denotes that the movement to protect the rights, identity, interest and land of the tribal in Manipur is still incomplete.
He also maintained that the unprecedented response it received from the public to paid floral tributes by ceasing their daily chores for a few hours speaks volume of how they still hold the movement and the sacrifice made by the nine martyrs, very dear to their heart.
'The fight is unfinished,' he said adding several provisions of the MoU terms are still to be upheld.
