Singjamei clubs say no to 'Thabal'

Imphal, March 07 2025: A meeting of representatives of 10 clubs of Singjamei area held at YAWA Club complex, Singjamei Leishangthem Leikai on Thursday has adopted a resolution not to organise any "Thabal" in any of the areas under their jurisdiction.

The meeting was attended by representatives of SROY (Singjamei Thongam Leikai), SUO (Top Leikai), SEDO (Sapam Leikai), SDO (Mayengbam Leikai), EC (Oinam Thingel), OLYC (Okram Leikai), ADC (Kakwa Asem Leikai), WAC (Waikhom Leikai) and WBSD (Waikhom Leikai) .

In this regard, YAWA secretary Leishangthem Manikanta informed newspersons that an agreement was arrived at the meeting to limit Yaoshang festival related programmes, including conduct of torch rallies for sports meets using low volume speaker, completing all sport events by 6 pm and not holding any 'Thabal Chongba' in areas covered by the said clubs.

He then appealed to the people to extend support to the same.
