Training on organic farming concludes

Imphal, March 07 2025:
A two-day training programme on organic/natural farming for extension officers and held functionaries concluded at the conference hall of Institute of Co-Operative Management (ICM), Lamphelpat on Friday.
Organised jointly by Regional Centre for Organic and Natural Farming, Imphal and ICM, the valedictory programme Was attended by CAU, Imphal, Extension Education director Prof Ph Ranjit as chief guest, ICM director Khoichung Rangamlian Aimol as functional president and Regional Centre of Natural and Organic Farming, Imphal deputy director Dr VY Deoghare as guest of honour.

In his speech, Prof Ranjit emphasised that as everyone is aware of the benefits of organic food crops, focus on Organic farming should be prioritised.
He reminded that with 25 centres spread across the north-eastern states apart from Assam, the CAU is the first varsity to provide degree course on natural farming.
While urging all concerned to attend training programmes on organic farming conducted periodically, he also encouraged entrepreneurs to avail the benefits provided by the central government.
As part of the closing function, certificates were distributed to the trainees.
