CIFT hybrid solar dryer installed in Nagaland

Imphal, March 07 2025:
ICAR-CIFT has installed a hybrid solar dryer at the premises of Bharathima-ria Fishermen Development Cooperative Limited (Bharathimanaco) at Bade village, Chumoukedima in Nagaland, for the benefit of the fish farmers.
Fish processing units worth Rs 5.4 lakh were also provided to members of the society.
The hybrid dryer worth Rs 2 lakh has been fabricated, transported and installed by CIFT at Bharathimanaco under the NEH Scheme of ICAR-CIFT, Cochin.

The facility was inaugurated by Dimapur DFO Dr Imti Sunep in the presence of Bharathimanaco (Manipur & Nagaland) founder and chairman Dr Ramanando Khundrakpam, and ICAR-CIFT principal scientist Dr V Geethalakshmi, senior scientist Dr PK Vinci and scientist Dr Sarika K and NFDB NERC senior executive Asim Kumar Borah.
The experts also provided the user-guide-lines and operating procedures to the farmers during the programme.
