Assam Rifles seizes drugs at Moreh

Imphal, February 07 2025:
Assam Rifles on Thursday recovered a significant quantity of drugs and apprehended an individual at permanent vehicle check post (PVCP), Moreh in Tengnoupal district.
According to PRO IGAR (S), a suspicious vehicle coming from Moreh was stopped for inspection.
During the search, images of drugs were found on the driver's phone.
Upon a detailed inspection of the vehicle, a strong-smelling substance was discovered in a wrapped packet.
Moreh police and SDO were informed, and upon their arrival, the packet was opened, revealing seven packets of suspected WY tablets concealed in the rear of the vehicle.
The drugs, along with the vehicle were seized and the owner identified as Zamkholun Baite apprehended, the PRO informed, adding that the individual and the recovered drugs have been handed over to Moreh police station for further legal proceeding.
