Injured woman delivers stillborn baby, sit-in staged

Thoubal, March 07 2025: A pregnant woman, who suffered bullet injuries in an incident at Sangaiyumpham Puleipokpi in Thoubal on March 2, delivered a stillborn baby through caesarean section at Raj Medicity on Thursday.

The woman has been identified as Sarida Rasooly (35) w/o Md Azman Khan of Sangaiyumpham Puleipokpi Makha Leikai.

Meanwhile, the 'JAC against the killing of the foetus of Sarida Rasooly' organised a sit-in protest at Puleipokpi Makha Leikai on Friday participated by women and family members of Sarida, demanding that those involved in causing injuries to the wofnan and death of the unborn child be booked and punished.

The protestors used placards inscribed with slogans such as "We condemn shooting at the pregnant woman", "Punish the culprit immediately", and "Punish the killer Tamijur Rahaman" .
