AR dedicates waiting shed, conducts medical camp

Imphal, February 07 2025:
Assam Rifles inaugurated a newly constructed waiting shed at Komlakhong in Imphal West district under its flagship Operation Sadbhavana project on February 3 .
According to PRO IGAR (S), the waiting shed was constructed in response to local community needs and provide vital public utility for travellers and residents, enhancing convenience and safety.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by over 120 locals including ward members, Komlakhong Youth Development Association president Samu and secretary Ibohal, Komlakhong Meira Paibi president Sushila Devi and secretary Achoubi among others.
The community members expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for its continued efforts in fostering sustainable development, said the PRO in a release.
It also informed that with the aim of delivering healthcare requirements of the local population of Chandel dis trict, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at New Samtal village on Thursday during which senior citizens, women and children from New Samtal and Aivomjang were screened for treatment by the medical staff.
As part of the medical camp, a counselling session for the locals, focusing on preventive healthcare; hygiene, nutrition and disease prevention, was held, according to the release, adding that basic diagnostic services, consultations, and medications were also provided.
